Whether you wear a sari on any of the Puja days or not, adorning a sari on Ashtami is tradition! Take inspiration from Koushani’s red-on-red look — styled effortlessly, the shades of maroon and bright red compliment each other in the most regal way. The layering of gold jewellery with a choker and a sitahar lends its traditional aesthetic to the look. The shakha-pola along with gold bangles highlight the time-honoured accessory, part of Bengali heritage. Koushani’s hairdo with a low bun compliments the ensemble while the smoky kohl eyes completes the look perfectly.

Pro tip: If you’re wearing a red-on-red monochrome look make sure you find the hues of red that compliment each other. Add a smoky eye to the mix and you’re Ashtami ready.
