Make your own festive sweet in a few simple steps

Digital Creator Binita Das shares the perfect gurer naru recipe — not very complicated and perfect to make at home to satiate all your festive season sweet cravings. It’s naru season after all!

Heat some gur (jaggery) and water in a pan on medium flame. Add a pinch of salt as it reaches a boil to cut through the sweetness. Tumble in some freshly grated coconut and lightly keep stirring the mixture until it caramelises some more and comes together. Let the jaggery and coconut mixture cool slightly. Roll into balls with your palms and they are ready to eat. Store them in air-tight containers or refrigerate them to last long.
