Match day: Traffic restrictions around Eden Gardens on Saturday

Kolkata Traffic Police notified several traffic restrictions in view of the Legends League Cricket T20 tournament match at Eden Gardens on Saturday

Roads closed to traffic

  • Gostho Paul Sarani (Kingsway) will be closed from 4pm till the dispersal of spectators.
  • Khudiram Bose Road (Auckland Road) and North Brooke Avenue will be closed as and when deemed necessary.
  • Parking on both sides of the following roads will be prohibited as and when necessary:

d) Rani Rashmoni Avenue

e) Old Court House Street

f) Indira Gandhi Sarani (Red Road)

  • Buses and minibuses coming from south Kolkata for the BBD Bag area will be diverted from…
  1. Rani Rashmoni Avenue towards Netaji Statue, Govt Place East, Old Court House Street, BBD Bag
  2. From Jawaharlal Nehru Road towards Bentinck Street, Mission Row, Mangoe Lane, BBD Bag, depending on the volume of traffic or as and when considered necessary by the police personnel on duty.
  • Similarly, buses and minibuses from north and east Kolkata will be diverted from…
  1. Chittaranjan Avenue towards Ganesh Chandra Avenue, Mangoe Lane, BBD Bag
  2. From SN Banerjee Road towards Rani Rashmoni Avenue, Govt Place East, Old Court House Street, BBD Bag for the westward journey
  3. From Old Court House Street towards Esplanade Row East, Jawaharlal Nehru Road for southward journey as and when considered necessary by the police personnel on duty.
  • Motorists from south Kolkata may avail AJC Bose Road, St Georges Gate Road, Strand Road and get access to BBD Bag area through Kiran Sankar Roy Road towards Council House Street.
  • Similarly, motorists from north and east Kolkata will enter BBD Bag area through BB Ganguly Street and also from SN Banerjee Road, Rani Rashmoni Avenue, Govt Place East, Old Court House Street etc. as directed by traffic police on duty.
  • Howrah-bound buses and minibuses coming from south and south- west Kolkata along DH Road, Kidderpore bridge, Kidderpore Road will be diverted from Hastings crossing via St. Georges Gate Road - Strand Road - for their northward journey, as and when required.
  • Howrah bound buses and minibuses coming from south and south-west Kolkata along DH Road, Strand Road, Alipore Road - Belvedere Road - Zeerat Bridge will be diverted from Belvedere RoadIAJC Bose Road crossing via AJC Bose Road - AJC Ramp - St Georges Gate Road - Strand Road for their northward journey, as and when required.
  • Howrah-bound buses and minibuses coming from south Kolkata along AJC Bose Road - Jawaharlal Nehru Road - Mayo Road will be diverted from Dufferin Road/Mayo Road crossing via Dufferin Road, Kidderpore Road, Ghorapath, St Georges Gate Road, Strand Road for their northward journey as and when required.
  • The bus stand on Band Stand and Auckland Road will be shifted to Kiran Shankar Roy Road and Esplanade Row East, Central Bus Terminus on days the matches will be played.

Traffic may also be diverted from any of the arterial and feeder roads as and when considered necessary. These notifications will remain in force in addition to other usual restrictions on Saturday.
