1/7 The much-awaited Kolkata Christmas Festival kicked off on December 21, beginning a weeklong celebration at Park Street. From beautiful lighting to lip-smacking delicacies at eateries, an exciting time awaits visitors at the festival, which will continue till December 27. My Kolkata took a tour of the area on Saturday evening and gathered all details visitors need to know. Allen Park will be the epicentre of several activities during the festival, including music shows and dancing. However, on Saturday and Sunday, the park will remain closed to manage the crowd. So, if you are planning to visit on December 26, the park will have a number of activities to offer. A beautifully decorated Christmas tree outside the gate greets visitors

My Kolkata had a quick chat with Devarshi Halder and Raina Bardha, who were finishing some last-minute Christmas shopping after a lavish lunch. “We are from Basirhat and study in Kolkata. Our Christmas vacation began on Saturday and before leaving the city for our hometown, we wanted to enjoy the carnival here,” Devarshi said

6/7 There are at least 30 temporary food stalls at the location. Visitors can indulge in a variety of Goan, continental, Chinese and American cuisines. Also available are Christmas cakes and homemade chocolates. The stalls will remain closed on December 24 and 25. If checking out the food stalls is on your to-do list, it is advisable to visit after Sunday
