Fresh green leaves and grass made their way to the wall lining the stage and were juxtaposed by metallic strips with peripheral lighting that made for a shiny and reflective spectacle.

Right from the entrance to the dining area, to the banquet hall and the stage, the decor of IIHM presents The Telegraph She Awards Leadership 2022, powered by JD Birla Institute & Kutchina, in association with Senco Gold & Diamonds and Graphe, was grand as always! The decor was in vibrant hues of green, red, metallic gold and silver. While scenographer Swarup Dutta set the concept, the decor was brilliantly executed by Cherry Tree led by founder-director Rishabh Bapna in collaboration with Orient Decorators and Classic Flowery. Here are the decor highlights...

2/9 The installation near the dining hall was an abstract representation of the feminine elements. Circular, flowy, radiant! The contrast of red and green and the imagery of free-flowing flowers out of it was definitely snap-worthy.

5/9 The ceiling of the entrance area was sparkling bright with these full-sized crystal chandeliers that once again drew from the dominant colour scheme, and was in tones of luscious red, with greens and gypsy flowers lining the periphery.

6/9 The red, black and gold bar inside the hall was quite the stunner and an Instagrammable spot. It was inspired by old Kolkata ‘baithak ghar’ or ‘meeting room for men’. The taxidermied hunting trophies on the walls reflect the hunting trophies seen on the walls of those meeting rooms. For the bar, they were replicated with bamboo and coloured a shimmery gold that shone against the red velvet squares.

“The Telegraph She Awards is one event we look forward to every year, as mandated to curate and handle the entire event end to end,we are given complete freedom. Everyone has been extremely supportive through this journey. Team Telegraph, team t2… everyone takes personal interest. It’s special for everyone.Through this journey I have created some lovely memories and have forged some real partnerships from team Telegraph, to some of our sponsors, who really believe in the cause, to all my collaborators. Swarup has been a special part of this journey. He has creatively envisaged the event decor  and brought it to fruition all these years! Baisakhi Di (Baisakhi Ghosh) has been an integral part of this journey, over the years. This year our execution partners Orient Decorators and Classy Flowery have also extended us their support with open arms,” said Rishabh Bapna, founder-director, Cherry Tree.

“It takes some time to understand the enormity of an award function like She Awards. The idea is not only about felicitating women achievers, but it’s also about encouraging and being cheerleaders for every small step forward for women! As a man, for me it’s about standing beside ‘women’ and celebrating them! A knowledge that a woman’s way forward most often would have had more hurdles than a man has faced. One can usually take it skin deep and design something nice! But it’s important being meaningful. I feel I am slowly but surely moving towards making this experience more meaningful,” said scenographer Swarup Dutta.
