Barbie and Ken: Separated

Los Angeles, June 30 (AFP): It’s official. Barbie has a new man in her life, a well-toned Australian surfer called Blaine, who is helping her get over her breakup with former beau Ken.

US toy maker Mattel announced yesterday the “hot Australian hunk” is giving the all-American girl “some tips and tricks from international waters.”

Barbie split from her suitor of 43 years, Ken, in February, but Mattel declined to confirm till yesterday that there was a new man in her life. “Blaine, the suave new Aussie surfer in the group, caught more than a few waves when he snagged Barbie’s attention,” Mattel revealed.

Over the past few weeks, over two million girls worldwide logged onto barbie.com to advise Barbie on a new soulmate, Mattel said.

However, fans will have to hold their breaths for a little longer, as Blaine will not be hitting the shelves of toy stores until August. The surfer doll will be priced around $14.99.
