Ranchi, Aug. 3: A college girl cried she got rape threats over a land dispute at today's janata durbar of health and agriculture ministers Ramchandra Chandravanshi and Randhir Kumar Singh.
Coming to the three-hour durbar starting 11am, the young Tatisilway resident and BCom student wept before the ministers alleging her kin and goons they patronised had made her life miserable.
The tribal girl, who came with her mother, said she stopped going to college after hoodlums threatened to rape her if she didn't forego her land.
"My cousin forcibly grabbed three acres of my paternal land," she alleged. "In 2014 my elder brother was killed over this land. Our life has become hell," she cried.
Minister Singh immediately spoke to Ranchi city SP Kishore Kaushal on the case.
The girl was among 100 complainants across Jharkhand at today's durbar.
Twenty occupants of Prahlad Enclave, Chiraundi, Ranchi, alleged they were cheated by builder Narendrajeet Singh, who constructed a poor quality structure. "The apartment has 126 flats of which around 50 flats are occupied, but the builder forces occupants to pay maintenance fee for the whole building and has fraudulently registered an energy meter of the common area in one person's name," said one. Chandravanshi assured them of action against the builder.
Vandini Devi of Namkum said she also faced a land grab problem that gave her sleepless nights these past three years. "Rajesh Kacchap, an elected representative at Ranchi zilla parishad, mukhiya Mahadeo Munda, Congress leader Silas Tuti and others grabbed 14 acres of my family land in 2013. When we lodged an FIR, they bullied us. They send armed men to our home who claim to be from PLFI," Devi said.
Chandravanshi assured police protection to her family and said he would ask Ranchi DC, SP and local revenue official to verify land ownership.
Saraswati Devi of Baruhatu, Bundu, wanted compensation for her dead son Praveen Bhagat. "My son was a Maoist who surrendered with arms in 2013. He got four decimal land and joined the police as an SPO. Last year, he was on a bike with his friend Jugnu Patar when Maoists men shot them. As both died in rebel violence, they should be compensated," she said. Minister Singh said the application would be forwarded to the police for verification.
