Jamshedpur Jan 28: Sacred Heart Convent girls and Loyola boys campaigned in style, posting comfortable wins in the Joga Inter-school Volleyball Tournament that kicked-off at the JRD Tata Sports Complex here today.
Kerala Public School, Mango, DBMS English School, Vig English School and Beldih Church also posted victories in the girls’ category, along with their counterparts.
Sacred Heart Convent was posted four impressive wins — against Carmel Junior College, Beldih Church, Kerala Samajam Public School and KPS Mango — of the junior and senior sections today.
After losing the earlier match against Sacred Heart, KPS and Mango showed some inprovement by managing to put it across Beldih Church.
DBMS also had a comfortable win over the same opponents as well as Carmel Junior College.
In the boys’ junior category matches, while Vig English School beat Rajendra Vidyalaya (RV), Beldih Church defeated Carmel Junior College who had a bad outing in both the categories.
The boys senior category matches held in the afternoon, saw Loyola defeating Vig English School and DBMS Career Academy scoring a tough win over a determined Motilal Nehru Public School (MNPS).
DBMS, KSMS, Beldih Church also scored in other matches that were lined up for the afternoon session.
The tournament was inaugurated by Charles Boromeo, manager, administration, corporate communications, Tata Steel and a Asian gold medallist in athletics.
Altogether 10 schools, Sacred Heart Convent, RV, MNPS, DBMS, DBMSCA, KSMS, KPS Mango, Beldih Church, Vig English School and Loyola are participating in the four day tourney being organised by KPS, Mango.
