Hazaribagh, June 4: Students seeking admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses at Vinoba Bhave University (VBU) can now apply online.
For, a centralised online admission system was inaugurated at the varsity headquarters in Sindoor today by Union minister of state for finance Jayant Sinha.
Students studying in various constituent and affiliated colleges, spread across Dhanbad, Bokaro, Giridih, Hazaribagh, Chatra, Koderma and Ramgarh, can simply log on to www.vbu.ac.in and fill up forms, upload scanned copies of necessary documents and then pay at their respective colleges. Students applying for postgraduate courses have to submit their fees at the university. VBU officials said the option of paying online will start in the next two months.
By introducing the centralised online admission system, the university, which started online registration of students in 2014, aims to bring in greater transparency in its operations and ensure minimum inconvenience to its students.
"This is a big achievement for VBU. The online admission system is top-class. It will ease the admission process. Students no longer have to stand in long queues to fill up forms," said Sinha.
