Jamshedpur, May 8: Ever heard of a person who can stop a flying helicopter and bring it down to the ground?
For Krishna Gopal Srivastava, who has created quite a number of records through daredevil acts, the task does not seem impossible.
Srivastava, who has already achieved feats like towing an Indian Air Force Fighter plane with his teeth and even a 300-tonne ship over a substantial stretch, now aims at pulling down a helicopter while it is hovering in the air.
Srivastava, who was in Jamshedpur on Tuesday as part of a promotional campaign for a company, displayed his act by pulling a mini-truck by his teeth, not once but thrice.
“The feat I am planning is not impossible. It has to be done with the help of the army and I am waiting for the necessary permission. It is expected to take place in Kochin. I will try to pull down the helicopter with my teeth. I believe in God. I have been able to perform such acts till now because of Him,” said Srivastava.
The small group of people, who had gathered to watch the act, stared in disbelief at the performance of the “Tiger of India” — a title given to Srivastava after his feat of pulling an aircraft with his teeth during the platinum jubilee celebrations of the Indian Air Force.
Srivastava is strictly vegetarian and drinks a lot of water apart from meditating regularly.
“I hail from a family of pehelwans that resides in Datia, a small town in Madhya Pradesh, which is also the hometown of legendary wrestler Gama pehelwan. Now, pehelwans are being used for wrong purposes. I thought of using my strength in acts like this. When I first tried it, it came easily to me and after that there was no looking back. Now I have three records in the Limca Book of Records for pulling a fighter plane and a 300-tonne ship. I have also received a certificate of appreciation from the Guinness Book of World Records,” said Srivastava.
Dare-devilry seems to run in the family.
Srivastava’s 16-year-old son Sahdev, who is in the city with his father, surprised many by pulling an SUV with his teeth.
Sahdev began early by pulling a van by his teeth at the age of just seven and a half.
Now, although he wants to follow in his father’s footsteps in performing such acts, he also wants to join the army.
He has also received quite a awards from the government of Madhya Pradesh, including the Adhunik Bheem Award in 1990 and Adhunik Gama Award in 1991.
