Three teenagers crushed to death

Hazaribagh, Sept. 16: Three teenagers, riding a Hero Honda, were crushed to death today by a speeding truck (BR-13-9666). Two of the victims were from Bhurkunda.

The accident took place near Lapanga bank near Jawahar Nagar, which is 34 km from Hazaribagh. The accident took place around 1 pm. The truck has been seized by the local police station but the driver could not be traced as he managed to escape from the spot.

The three teenagers were 19-year-old Bhim Singh the son of Lakhbir Singh and one Pragat Singh’s son, 18-year-old Gurmeet Singh. The two were from Bhurkunda. The whereabouts of 17-year-old Inderjeet Singh the son of Bhure Singh could not be found.

In another case, two school kids were crushed to death by a speeding truck at Barhi, GT road. The kids were going on a cycle.

In another case, a police van collided with a tanker at Chutupalu, injuring the police van’s driver. After judging the condition of Md Ishtaq, the driver of the police van, critical, the local doctor referred the case to RIMS.

In another case a dacoity took place in a jewellery shop of Purshotam Soni, at Prem Nagar in Charhi. The dacoits took ornaments worth rupees fifty thousand. The police had recovered 6 bombs from the spot. But no arrests have been made by the police.

In another case the Hazaribagh Bar Association today called an emergency meeting regarding the poor functioning of the district police. The lawyers of Hazaribagh are angry as one of their fellow lawyers has been kidnapped one week ago and till date he is traceless.

The Bar Association has threatened that if the abducted lawyer is not recovered in 48 hours they will boycott the court from September 18 for an indefinite time.

The Association has also submitted their memorandum to the deputycommissioner and the superintendent of police regarding their demands and the association has also made faxed the same to the chief minister. The lawyers of Hazaribagh are protesting have also protested against the action of the district police. President of Bar Association B. Prasad said that one can see that now even lawyer are being not being spared. They are also being kidnapped, he said and added that this shows how inefficiency of our district administration. “Who will assist the court if the lawyers are kidnapped?”, said one of the lawyer.

The Hazaribagh Citizens forum took out procession in protest of the abduction of Kamal Pandey. The forum warned the district administration that if the abducted lawyer is not recovered in 48 hours they will continue with their agitation.
