Are you a computer buff hooked to the Internet? Do you prefer browsing the Internet than surfing television channels? If yes, then your search ends here. To meet the demands of the profession, the Adityapur-based National Institute of Technology (NIT) is offering a three-year full time MCA programme. The institute, which was recently elevated to the status of NIT from Regional Institute of Technology (RIT), has become a guiding force for small-scale industries in the Adityapur industrial area zone.

Course Details: The students are taught subjects including computer organisation, data and file structures, business data processing, operating system, operation research, computer graphics, computer networking, microprocessors, accounting and financial management, software project management, data base management system and artificial intelligence. The course also includes extensive laboratory work that allows students to develop software in business engineering and management.

Duration: A three-year full time programme conducted in six-semesters.

Eligibility: Graduation from a recognised university with a minimum of 50 per cent marks in Mathematics. Candidates will have to appear for a screening test conducted by the institute before admission.

Fees: Rs 7,000 per semester (approximately)

Prospects: After completing the course, students could be absorbed as software engineer, system analyst or system executive in industries. There would also be a campus recruitment programme in July, which continues till May next year. Candidates are also exposed to industrial training.
