Tata Main Hospital (TMH) launched its revamped healthcare facility in Sakchi, Jamshedpur, on Tuesday.

Called TMH Clinic, it earlier only had minimal facilities. Now, it is fully renovated and boasts an instant blood test facility and a seamless appointment-free, digitised healthcare experience for patients. The clinic will also have ECG and resuscitation facilities.

This is the fourth such dispensary that got renovated after Baridih, Kadma and Sonari dispensaries.

"We are trying to develop the clinics so that patients can avail state-of-the-art services. We tried to offer all basic level treatment here by connecting it to Tata Digital Health Services. We hope these medical units will some of the best in the city," said Sunil Bhaskaran, vice-president, corporate services, Tata Steel, who inaugurated the health centre.

Tuesday's function was attended by G. Ramdas, former general manager, TMH; Rajen Chaudhary, the new general manager of TMH; along with senior doctors of TMH, Tata Steel employees Tata Workers' Union members.

The Sakchi clinic will also have apre-consulting system, which will be implemented using state-of-the-art devices.

Pre-consultation comprises a compulsory measurement of the patient's basic parameters such as blood pressure, blood-glucose, blood-oxygen and body temperature.

This is followed by the doctors' consultation on a digital interface where the doctor enters the diagnosis and prescription on an electronic medical records platform.

Moreover, the clinic will have a facility called TMH Express, which will facilitate priority specialist referrals when required. This service also offers digitised health records, which will be accessible to the patients in the form of an interactive interface.

The clinic is also planning a regular immunisation programme to make it easier for Tata Main Hospital, which is not far away in Bistupur.

Since the clinic is situated in Sakchi, the heart of the city, the authorities also think running immunisation programmes for infants in this location will benefit a large number of parents.

"Healthcare services offered at the revamped Sakchi clinic will help Tata Main Hospital get rid of the extra load of patients everyday. Patients can come to the clinic too at the preliminary stages of their problem until and unless surgery is required," said R. Ravi Prasad, president, Tata Workers' Union.
