Ranchi, Aug. 2: An employee of Tata Motors Finance was shot by two motorcycle-borne men near the gate of Birsa Institute of Technology at Amrood Bagan under Sukhdeonagar police station area this evening.
Guddu Shaw (25), a resident of Ganga Nagar, sustained bullet injuries on his head and stomach. He was rushed to RIMS, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Confirming the incident, officer in charge of Sukhdeonagar police station Faguni Paswan said that Shaw used to work for the debt recovery unit of the company. “He used to seize vehicles from people who failed to repay the loans taken from the finance company,” he added.
City police superintendent A. Vijayalaxmi said that the deceased was associated with the Sandeep Thapa gang that was involved in Ajsu leader Ajit Yadav murder case. She, however, could give state the reason behind Shaw’s murder.
An FIR has been lodged and the body sent for post-mortem. No one has been arrested yet. The police have started raids to nab the murderers.
This is the second murder in the capital within three days. On Thursday night, railway contractor Santosh Singh was shot dead in Jagannathpur. The police are yet to make any breakthrough in the case.
