Jamshedpur, Nov. 30: Two persons committed suicide at different places in the steel city today.

While 20-year-old Savita Kumari, a resident of Rahargora under Parsudih police station, hanged herself at her residence, Ratnakar Karua, 30, a contract labourer ended his life similarly near the labour bureau in Telco.

Police have recovered both the bodies and have sent them for autopsy.

According to police, Savita Kumari, who was married to one Ajit Kumar Singh, ended her life due to alleged torture by her in-laws.

Frustrated with the torture, she committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling fan of her house. Police said they have so far not arrested anyone in this connection.

The reason for Karua’s, whose body was found hanging from a tree, suicide is yet to be detected, police said.
