Jamshedpur, May 9: DM Madan Girls’ High School student Farheen Naaz has topped the matriculation examination in the steel city by securing 424 marks.
The eldest of two siblings, Farheen, believes that her consistent hard work of more than six hours a day has earned her the success.
For this youngster though, climbing up the ladder of success comes easy as she has always stood first in her entire academic career.
Her parents are naturally overjoyed with their daughter’s success. Her father Md Nazir Ahmed, a Tata Steel employee, confessed that ever since her birth, she has brought luck to the family. “Now, she has proved lucky for herself,” said Ahmed.
“She has always been a low-profile individual,” said a clearly elated Ahmed, while posing for a picture perfect family photograph.
Farheen’s mother Yasmeen is also ecstatic with her daughter, who has done the family proud.
They are now pinning their hopes on their younger child, Md Tauquir Ahmed, a Class X student of KMPM Inter College in the city, to repeat his sister’s achievement.
An aspiring doctor, Farheen wants to fulfil her grandparents’ dream.
“They always wanted me to become a doctor and above all science is my favourite subject,” she said.
Farheen now plans to join KMPM Inter College for her intermediate degree in science and loves to draw and paint in her leisure hours.
“Human forms fascinate me, it is so much fun to paint them and to give them shape,” said Farheen, with a broad smile.
She has scored excellent marks in all the subjects, with science and mathematics topping the list with 90 and 93 per cent marks, respectively. “Yeah, it feels great,” was her simple reaction.
For the proud parents, it is a moment of happiness as they gear up to celebrate it in style with a lot of delicacies in the coming days.
