Jamshedpur, June 23: The owner of Orient Medical Stores in Dhatkidih, Mohammed Afroz (28), committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his brother’s house in B-H Area in Kadma in the wee hours today.

The deceased, a resident of Dhatkidih B-block, Bisturpur, faced some problems in his marital life. Sources said Afroz was in his medical shop till late last night and from there he went to the residence of his elder brother, Mohammed Sagir, instead of returning to his own house.

He then had dinner and went to bed, sources said. Around 1.30 am, his brother woke up on hearing strange sounds coming from the room in which Afroz was sleeping.

Sagir repeatedly knocked on the door but Afroz did not open it. He then had to break open the door to find his brother hanging from the ceiling fan.

Sources said Afroz who was still alive was immediately rushed to the Tata Main Hospital’s Emergency ward where he was declared brought dead.
