Ranchi, Aug. 7: JMM leader Sibu Soren addressed a meeting outside the Indian Institute of Coal Management (IICM) premises. The IICM Employees Union had organised the meeting to get support from Soren to intensify its agitation for regularisation of services of more than 200 contract labourers working at IICM since 1994.

In his address, Soren warned the labourers against the management?s policy of dividing workers. He assured them that their services would be regularised soon.

He criticised the management for paying poor remuneration to contract labourers. ?It is a matter of concern that workers working for IICM are getting an average of Rs 2,500 per month,? he added.

Later, Soren said the Centre will ensure opening of all closed industries and never allow the HEC to be shut down.
