Durga Soren |
Bokaro, April 14: Two days after he was expelled from the JMM, Durga Soren today claimed that his ailing father, party president Shibu Soren, was being drugged.
Hinting at a conspiracy masterminded by the Congress brass “to keep him away from the JMM and Soren senior, Durga also demanded a CBI probe into the deteriorating health of his father.
Durga alleged that during the course of treatment at the Delhi hospital, his father was being given “high doses of unwanted medicines”. This, he claimed, had led Soren to issue several “unwarranted statements” and made him “agree to my expulsion” from the party.
“Blood samples must be collected and other examinations, including a DNA test, must be conducted to find out the truth,” a visibly upset Durga said, talking to The Telegraph at his official residence in Sector IC, Bokaro. Soren junior was preparing to leave for Jamui, Bihar, with JMM leader Santosh Rajwar to support a party candidate whose name he couldn’t recall.
Durga went to the extent of clarifying that he was still the general secretary of the JMM. He claimed that he had a word with his father last night and was asked to “what I liked” (read contesting from Godda).
“I spoke to senior party leader Champai Soren who said nothing about expulsion. Rajwar still stands by me. He did not sign the expulsion letter. Who on earth is expelling me then?” Durga said that no party meeting had been convened yet to discuss the matter. “I learnt about the expulsion from the media.”
Durga said his father was being made a “guinea pig”. “No senior Congress leader favour him in Tamar. Baba was caught in a deep conspiracy and he lost,” he said.
Both Champai and Rajwar refused to comment.
