Jamshedpur: The East Singhbhum district administration has sent out a stern message against playing of inflammatory songs and performing bike stunts during Ram Navami processions in and around the city on March 26.
After a marathon meeting with peace committee members and those representing various akharas at the SNTI Auditorium in Bistupur on Monday, deputy commissioner Amit Kumar said notices would be issued all DJs regarding what genre of music they could play while extensive study of CCTV footage and video recordings would be done to identify trouble-mongers.
"We are in the process of preparing a list of DJs at thana level and notices will be issued within a day or two to each of them. Inflammatory/objectionable songs can't be played during processions. Zonal and super-zonal magistrates and policemen will have videographers to record rallies and those seen doing bike stunts will be brought to book," Kumar said.
The district has been divided into seven super zones (a cluster of thanas) under a senior administrative officer and a DSP-ranked officer.
The administration has further directed the 209 akhara committees to ensure that processions are completed by 8pm on March 26.
"All akharas have been asked to submit a list of 10-12 active members along with their contact numbers to the local thana. The committee members will be issued ID cards and will be held responsible for offences committed during processions," said SSP Anoop Birtharay.
The administration has asked the akharas to co-ordinate among themselves and compile a list of devotional songs and distribute it in USB drives.
JNAC special officer Sanjay Kumar Pandey said they would float WhatsApp and helpline numbers for immediate redress of problem related to civic issues on Ram Navami, which will be celebrated on March 25-26.
Jusco senior executive Dhananjay Mishra said trimming of trees in Tata Steel command areas would be done before Ram Navami processions on March 26 so that giant flags can sail smoothly. JUVNL officials, on the other hand, have been directed to ensure that dangling wires along procession routes are fixed.
City SP Prabhat Kumar said traffic police would take care of unauthorised parking along major roads ahead of the celebrations.
