Jamshedpur, July 31: Even as the JSA league is suspended, JSA has served a showcause notice to nine referees for boycotting the league.

The nine referees who were served a showcause notice were N.J. Sundi, S.P. Das, T. Ash, M. Prasad, V. Vartha, M.N. Mullick, H. Khan, A. Ansari and M.S.A. Sidiqqui.

The match between Thakkar Bappa Club and Burmamines Students Association turned ugly when players of the former protested against a decision of the referee. When the referee showed a yellow card, the player allegedly man-handled the referee. The referee also allegedly used abusive language. These referees boycotted matches scheduled at Gopal Maidan and JRD Tata Sports Complex the next day.

JSA members will meet tomorrow to finalise the dates for the league again.
