DAV as an organisation has grown into one of the biggest educational trust in the country. It has more than 700 schools, colleges and other institutions all over the country, which has become the nation?s pride for educational excellence.

A new link was smelted and connected to the long chain of DAV schools, when DAV Public School, Bariatu came into existence on July 24th, 1990 in a small unit of Marwari Relief Society.

Since then, in a short span of 15 years the school has come a long way. From a small kindergarten with 55 students and six teachers it has blossomed into a senior secondary school which has three wings ? The Nursery, Junior and Senior Wing.

The school has also become the study centre for National Institute of Open schooling under M.H.R.D, the government of India. The school spread over seven acres of land, takes care of its students travelling comfort by a fleet of school buses.

lTo inculcate moral values in the students, the school starts each working day with the morning assembly that includes recitation of vedic mantras, devotional and patriotic songs and thought for the day. Stress is laid on the universal aspects and eternal values of Indian culture.

Hawan is also performed on every Saturday and Dharam Shiksha books are prescribed to educate the students on moral values. Vedic Initiation Camps are held twice a year. DAV imparts education ?to build? (faith in eternal values of Sanatan, Vedic Dharma) and an education ?to pay? (Study of Modern languages, Science and Technology).

lThe computer labs are hi-tech and very well-furnished. The students have ample opportunities available here to pursue their career in the well- equipped computer labs. They are provided opportunities to participate in cyber Olympiad and IT competition organised by CBSE.

There are three spacious and modern science laboratories. They all are equipped with the latest laboratory gadgets and testing equipment.

The school also has a well-stocked library having over 8,000 volumes of books, journals, encyclopedias, almanacs and magazines, which facilitate learning. A constant endeavour is made to enrich the library with the latest books.

lThe school is churning out students who are outstanding performers. They are prestigious certificate holders at national level and have bagged gold and silver certificates for securing highest marks in English.

The students have also qualified in the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) and have also excelled in co -curricular activities like 4th National Cyber Olympiad.

The students have also excelled at zonal-level competition like One Act Play, declamation and recitation competitions.

The school also organises parents-teacher meeting to apprise the parents about their wards overall performance in the class. In this way constant interaction is maintained between the teachers and the parents.

lQuiz, extempore, speech, debate, drama, declamation, group and solo dances are among the various items that are taken up to organise house contests. Besides, there are other activities like reading, sketching, singing, dancing, public peaking and gardening that students can learn and enjoy.

The school ensures that discipline becomes the second nature of the child.

The music department of the school is equipped with a variety of musical instruments to make learning interesting. Children get training in Indian classical vocal music. Besides, yoga classes are also held regularly twice a week for enhancing and strengthening the concentration power of students.

They also take part in competitions like sholok acharan, mono acting, instrumental music and pot painting competitions.

lThe students are also taken for picnics and excursions, which are organised every year for the students and making them intimate with their cultural heritage and exploring the environment in and around Ranchi. They have visited places like Puri, Kolkata, Delhi, Jaipur and Agra.

lThe school maintains an individual file for all its children to have a systematic record for the academic as well as co-curricular progress of the students.
