Jamshedpur, June 16: After having toiled hard, it was time to reap the reward for students of Little Flower School.

The school organised a felicitation ceremony on the campus today to honour the students who had performed extraordinarily in academics and co-curricular activities this year. Around 26 students were felicitated at the function and S.B. Borwankar, the plant head of Tata Motors, handed over the awards and certificates.

The school toppers as well as students who topped in a particular subject were honoured. Three students — Avinash Singh, Apurva Rai and Rohit Agarwal — who won the digital photography contest at International Science Fest, Singapore, were also felicitated.

“The achievements of these students will inspire others to perform well. It is good to taste success but it is not good to be complacent,” said Borwankar, who was the chief guest at the function.

Parikshit Singh, the ISC school topper with 95 per cent, received the Abhishek Narayan Shield, a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 5,000.

Sonai Raj who scored the highest in English, Arpita Bose the chemistry topper, N. Avinash the mathematics whizkid and K. Rohit the computer science topper were also honoured. Kumari Sweta, the commerce topper with 94 per cent, received a certificate and Association of Little Flower Alumni trophy.

Aishwarya Mishra was given the HD Roy Memorial Award for being the school topper with 97.4 per cent in the ICSE. Anando Bandopadhyay was awarded for English, Sneha Sinha for Hindi, Mohit Kumar and Pranjali Debnath for history and geography, respectively.

“We are happy that our school is recognising our efforts. Our teachers and principal have helped us throughout and that reflected in our results,” said Rohit Agarwal.

“We have done well but aim to do better. Students who have shone at international meets will set an example for other children,” said Sister Hilda, the principal of LFS.
