Ranchi, Jan. 30: Science and technology minister Samresh Singh today took stock of the Mass Computer Literacy Mission 2003 to be launched in the state on Saturday and met “representatives” from the district polytechnic institutes, who will benefit from the programme.

The programme will cover all educational institutions in the state by March-end. In the first phase 160 centres from different districts have been shortlisted for the programme.

Addressing the gathering, Singh reprimanded the “representatives” from Dhanbad, who were late.

About 15,000 candidates, who will be receiving computer education in two months, will be given a certificate on April 15 at Nepal House.

“This is what we call advance planning. Everything is pre-scheduled and we hope the trained candidates will be able to find jobs. Besides we will also see to it that most of them are inducted in Jharkhand only,” Singh said.
