An armed gang of 7 robbers scaled the walls of 2 houses and thrashed their occupants before decamping with the loot

Cash and jewellery worth Rs 11 lakh were robbed from two homes in Giridih’s Bagodih Mor, some 40km from the town, in the small hours of Monday, creating a sensation in the area.

Police said an armed gang of seven robbers, who had a ladder, scaled the walls of the houses of Banti Saw and Yogendra Saw and thrashed their occupants before decamping with cash, jewellery and costly clothes.

Bagodar SDPO Binod Mahto said 60gm of gold, 500gm of silver, clothes worth Rs 3 lakhs and Rs 1.65 lakh in cash were taken from Banti’s house. From Yogendra’s house, 100gm of gold, 1.5kg of silver, clothes worth Rs 2 lakh and Rs 75,000 in cash were taken. The gang also injured Banti’s wife and daughter when they resisted.
