Ranchi, Dec. 16: Rebellion refuses to die down in the Janata Dal (United) party.

In a major jolt to the party in the run-up to the Assembly poll, members led by state vice-president Suraj Mandal at a meeting today blasted state party president Inder Singh Namdhari and announced their decision to join the Jharkhand Vikas Dal.

Disgruntled party workers accused Namdhari of ?implementing the agenda? of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in the state.

?There is no room for democracy or socialist thinking in the party,? Mandal said.

Babulal Murmu, Maulana Anwar Alam Faizi, Bernard Kichingia, Imran Ansari, Heera lal Sah, Rajendra Narayan Prasad, Gulam Chand Mishra, Dalan Sao, Baldev Sao, Chando Mandal and Rajendra Mandal are part of the breakaway group.

The party workers also called Namdhari ?fascist? and accused him of running the party with money and muscle power. ?Namdhari is anti-Muslim, anti-Harijan, anti-Adivasi and anti-backward castes. Therefore we are leaving the party to join Jharkhand Vikas Dal? said Mandal. A copy of the decision of the workers was also sent to Namdhari.

The workers have also decided to organise a conference in Hazaribagh on December 30 and 31. The future strategies of the Jharkhand Vikas Dal will be decided at the conference.

Names of those contesting the Assembly election will also be declared during the conference, Mandal said.

The JD(U) has been plagued by dissidence for months now, with three rebels joining the Rashtriya Janata Dal recently.
