Once known for its crispy and tasty dosas, The Park restaurant at Hotel South Park, Bistupur, is back with an all-new avatar, more dishes and minus service or sales tax.

The dining den, which was closed for three months for renovation, will open its doors on November 28 with new cuisines — Italian, Continental, Chinese and Indian.

“Traditionally, people of Jamshedpur have loved Indian and Chinese food. But with more exposure and experimentation, they are now developing taste for European cuisine.

Besides, most people prefer to stay off rich, spicy dishes and instead opt for light, less oily delicacies. So, here are we with our brand new motto of catering to health-conscious foodies,” said Prabhakar Singh, owner of Hotel South Park, Bistupur.

The Park also plans to introduce Thai and Mongolian food, but that will take time. Biryani will also find a place in the elaborate menu.

As it is, diners will be spoilt for choice as there are 100 starters and 120 main dishes in a la carte. The pocket pinch will be less too.

“We have registered for composition tax, which allows us to be free from sales and service tax till we reach the Rs 50-lakh mark in a fiscal. This set-up shall continue for three consecutive years if we manage to be under Rs 50 lakh this fiscal. So, food will automatically cost less,” said Singh.

Prices start from Rs 80.

“We want to offer different tastes to food lovers.

For example, even in South Indian fare, we will specialise in varieties of dal,” said Honey Bhatia, food and beverage manager, Hotel South Park.
