Jamshedpur, Nov. 28: Reliance has introduced a landline service based on Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) technology on the lines of Wireless in Local Loop (WLL).
The service was today simultaneously introduced in the city and Ranchi.
According to local officials of Reliance Infocom, the booking for landline connection started a couple of days ago but the connections were being provided from today.
Around 150 subscribers have so far applied for the landline phone, the officials said, adding that the connection would be made available to subscribers within four days of the submission of the application form.
The facility is introduced in three categories — Plan 500, Plan 1000 and Plan 1500 — meant for individuals and corporate houses.
Subscribers opting for Plan 500 (for individuals) has to deposit Rs 1,800 as security money which is refundable. Reliance Infocom officials said the subscribers opting for this plan would have to pay a minimum fixed monthly rental of Rs 500.
For the other two plans, no security deposit is required. But, the subscribers has to pay a minimum fixed Rs 1,000 monthly rental of Rs 1,000 and Rs 1500. Subscribers Trunk Dialling (STD) facilities is provided in all the three categories.
