Jamshedpur, Sept. 30: As stress levels increase, people in Jamshedpur are turning to alternative therapies for wellbeing.
Reiki, in particular, has emerged popular as a therapy option. Jamshedpur is soon emerging as the reiki capital of Jamshedpur, with nine reiki clinics operating in Jamshedpur, apart from one in Tata Main Hospital(TMH).
The German reiki grandmaster, late Karl Everding, had given the epithet to Jamshedpur. Reiki started in eastern India in 1992. Since then, reiki is becoming extremely popular with all sections of society.
For Sarvesh Khanna, a Reiki grandmaster, Jamshedpur is one of the best places for reiki. He said: “Around 13,000 to 14,000 people have learnt this art from me and got benefits. Here reiki practitioners work on two capsules — spirituality and power of mind. The practitioner does not practise for monetary gains but for public welfare.”
This is why Roopa Mohanty, senior management consultant and reiki grandmaster, has dedicated herself to benefit the people in corporate sector. In the year 2000, she started a trust named Hesal Reiki with personal funds.
“Reiki is not only for mental healing, but it empowers one with physical, emotional, and spiritual strength. I am treating people in the corporate field who after reiki get peace to excel in their chosen fields,” she said.
She is also feels that service through reiki is a main motivator. “I and my team in our trust do this treatment for charity. I strongly feel that we can be better. We see people getting cured from diseases ranging from neurological to gynaecological ones,” she added.
