Hazaribagh, June 27: The Maoist Communist Centre has threatened to punish additional district and sessions Judge (ADJ) Ashok Kumar Chand in a jan-adalat (people’s court) for awarding death penalty to three activists.

The MCC today put up posters in Simera block of Chhatra district announcing its decision to punish Chand.

Chand has awarded death penalty to three suspected MCC activists and life imprisonment to 23 accused in the Beltu massacre.

The MCC put up posters at Bazaartand in Sheela, Birhu Chowk, Project High School and several other places in the block saying the verdict delivered by Chand was unjust.

“Hiraman, Suresh and Hani Miyan, who were awarded death penalty, were victims of injustice,” read the posters.

The MCC said Chand would be punished in a jan-adalat and sentenced to death for delivering such a biased judgment. “Maut ka badla maut. Fansi ka badla fansi (death for death),” one of the posters said.

Another poster screamed, “Dekho haal Suresh, Hiraman aur Hani ka, kardenge behal saza dene walo ka (look at the plight of Suresh, Hiraman and Hani, those who have punished them will have to pay).”

The posters threatened a strike-back if the death penalty was executed.

“Fansi nahi rooki to khoon ki nadiya bahegi aur judge ko adalat mein saaza denge (if the death penalty is not stopped, then a river of blood will flow.
