The students of ISM pitted their grey cells against the best in the country as Srijan-2012, the annual techno-managerial fest of the tech cradle rolled into its penultimate day on Friday with a general quiz event Quodophilia.

The event, hosted at Penman Auditorium, saw 43 teams — including 32 from ISM — fielding questions on history, science, literature, movies and of course current affairs, thrown at them by renowned quizmaster Vinay Upadhyay of Quriozzity fame.

The preliminary round of the event required the teams to come out with written answers to 25 objective questions on the basis of which six teams were selected for the final round.

The finals of the quiz saw an ISM team prevailing over their tech counterparts from BIT-Mesra to bag the top slot.

The other event of the day that drew eyeballs was Awaaz, the debating event.

More than 20 participants, divided into Teams A, B and C competed in the event at the management studies department of the institute, with Nakul Kumar, a second-year petroleum engineering student from the host cradle walking home with the top honours.

Participants also locked horns in other events during the day, notably dance competition Footloose and the final round of Avalanche, the battle of rock bands.
