Puja bond of pen & inkpot

Ranchi, Oct. 23: The Chitransh family will celebrate Chitragupta puja tomorrow in different parts of the city according to the Hindu calendar although the state government declared the festival a holiday today.

Though puja has been organised in all the Chitransh localities, like Bihar Club, Upper Chutia, Booty More, Ashok Nagar, Ratu Road, Kokar, Harmu, Doranda, Hinoo and Dhurwa. Community feast, debate competitions and cultural programmes have been organised apart from puja rituals.

Bihar Club Chitragupta Puja Samiti convener Ajit Sahay said the puja would start at 11 am, followed by prasad distribution among devotees. At Chutia, puja has been organised at Ram temple while the puja at Booty More would be organised at Jaiprakash temple at 10 am

Union minister of state for food processing Subodh Kant Sahay will patronise the pujas across the city this year.

A 106-member committee has been constituted to make the puja successful. The team comprises former legislator Basant Kumar Lal, apart from P.N. Rai Pankaj, Pranab Kumar Babbu, Pandey Pradeep Nath Rai, Brigadier Ravi Kumar, Navneet Sinha, B.K. Verma and Deoal Sahay.

Chitragupta puja is an important festival of the Chitransh society during which they do not write anything and worship pen and inkpot. Gradually, the non-Chitransh people have also started participating in it to strengthen a bond with the community.
