Ranchi: The additional central PF commissioner in charge of Bihar and Jharkhand has asked exempted establishments in the state to submit details of provident fund contributions of outsourced employees to the regional PF office.
V.P. Singh on Wednesday held a meeting with the representatives of exempted establishments at the Ranchi regional office on Karamtoli Road to remind them that the onus of the submission of details lay with them.
"These exempted establishments are supposed to send us such details as they make payments to outsourced agencies for getting specific jobs done by them," Singh told reporters.
"I have met representatives of 11 such entities," he said, adding that are 15 such exempted units in the state.
Exempted establishments are big companies that have their own trust to manage the employees' provident fund.
Steel Authority of India Ltd, Mecon, Hindalco Industries and Usha Martin are some exempted establishments that have units in the state.
Singh said the EPFO was preferring online applications for settling claims of retired and deceased employees on the same day. "Even hard copy those applications are being settled within 3 days."
Asked about the numbers, he told that number of online applications are not received in large number - only about 20 on a daily basis and those are settled within the same day while up to 150 applications, on an average, are received offline every day and those are settled within 3 days.
