Bokaro, Sept. 7: The chief personal officer-cum-additional general manager of Bokaro Power Supply Company Limited (BPSCL), a unit of Bokaro steel plant, was beaten up by a junior manager till he fainted on the premises today.
R.R. Sinha was rushed to Bokaro general hospital with multiple injuries. He reportedly did not give promotion to the junior manager, Tarkeshwar Singh, on grounds of incompetence and indiscipline, which infuriated the latter. Bokaro SP Laxman Singh has asked the police to file an FIR against Singh.

Sources said that the incident occurred around 10am when Tarkeshwar, along with another colleague, confronted Sinha. He caught hold of Sinha by his collars and started raining punches on him till the senior official collapsed.
Later on regaining his consciousness, Sinha reported the matter to chief executive officer of BPSCL K.K. Singh. But instead of taking action against Tarkeshwar, the CEO said that such incidents were commonplace in big offices and that there was no need to make a mountain out of a mole hill.
But Sinha started feeling sick as blood oozed out from his nose. He was rushed to hospital.
Sources said that recently, BPSCL published a promotion list in which Tarkeshwar’s name was missing. Tarkeshwar complained to the CEO, who ordered Sinha to promote him. But the chief personal manger did not do the bidding and instead, submitted the promotion file to the board of directors for approval. This angered Tarkeshwar, who decided to teach Sinha a lesson.
When contacted, CEO Singh asked this correspondent to not give much importance to the news. He added that he would make sure that Sinha withdrew his complaint or else he would be forced to take disciplinary action.
SP Laxman Singh suspected that a few senior officials of the company were behind the attack on Sinha.
