He’s churned out three best-selling novels — 22 Yards, That Thing Called Love and Of Love and Politics — but his magnum opus may well be a biography on BJP national president Nitin Gadkari.
Tuhin A. Sinha (34), alumnus of Loyola School, is so enamoured by the aura and ideas of Gadkari, that he put together the leader’s thoughts in India Aspires — Redefining Politics Of Development, a book that offers a peek into national politics.
For Sinha, Gadkari is both a visionary and a philanthropist.
The 225-page book, published by Wisdom Tree, will hit the stands in the first week of November. The idea for the book originally germinated in the mind of one Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Gadkari’s friend.
When Sinha started penning the book, he expected it to be a simple first person narrative of a leader who envisaged change in a corruption-riddled country.
Many conversations with Gadkari later, an astonished Sinha had more matter than he had expected.
“His ideas for the social sector have enthralled me. Gadkari founded the Purti Group of Companies that is into social entrepreneurship in a big way and has generated a number of jobs. His (Gadkari’s) idea of bio-fuel for domestic use floored me,” Sinha said.
Sinha, a graduate from Delhi University’s Hindu College, who quit scriptwriting for TV and films to pursue his love for writing, added the BJP leader had also dreamt about the use of power-charged vehicles to save crude oil.
Sinha, who toured with Gadkari during his rallies, quotes liberally from the latter’s speeches.
The book will also explore agricultural growth, population explosion and the problems that came along with it.
“I started working on the book around July 2010. Gadkari is simple, friendly and has positive ideas for India’s development,” the author signs off.
