Ranchi, Nov. 20: Jharkhand High Court today issued a notice to urban development minister Bachcha Singh, his brother Ramadhin Singh and nephew Rajeev Ranjan Singh, admitting a criminal writ petition filed by an eyewitness in the Dhanbad Pramod Singh murder case.

The notice was issued by the division bench of Chief Justice P.K.I. Balasubramanyan and Justice Tapen Sen.

The petition was filed to quash a letter from director-general of police R.R. Prasad, which directed Dhanbad police superintendent M.L. Meena not to make any inquiry in the murder till the CBI decided whether or not to take up the case. The petitioner’s advocate Jai Prakash pointed out that while the murder was committed on October 3, the DGP ordered the inquiry stopped on October 23. He said it was unfortunate that no investigation had been started till date in the case.
