Jamshedpur, Oct. 17: Private telecom service provider Tata Teleservices today launched its new offering, Tata Indicom ?Non-Stop Mobile? ? in the Jharkhand and Bihar telecom circles.
The Non-Stop Mobile service is a prepaid plan with a validity period of two years on the purchase of a handset from the company.
Introduced in India for the first time bt any telecom operator, the new Non-Stop Mobile range of handsets allows customers to receive free incoming calls for a period of two years.
With the Non-Stop Mobile there are no fixed monthly commitments, subscribers are free to recharge with any recharge vouchers (starting at Rs 50) and use the value up to the entire validity period of the mobile. This comes with 100 per cent talk time.
Announcing the launch of its new service here today, Rajesh Puri, chief operating officer of Tata Teleservices (East) said the new service would help the company to expand its subscriber base and contribute to the telecom minister?s target of achieving a 250-million subscriber base by 2008.
The total mobile subscriber base of Tata Teleservices in Jharkhand is over 48,000.
According to Puri, the mobiles will be made available to customers through all retail outlets where Tata Indicom mobile phones are exhibited, including all Tata Indicom True Value shops.
The handsets are priced between Rs 2,500 and Rs 4,000.
?A lot of effort has gone into developing this offer. Customers can extend the offer after the initial period is over by purchasing another two- year voucher. Such vouchers will be made available within 30 days,? he added.
