Ranchi, March 12: Students of the metallurgy and mechanical department of the National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology (NIFFT) have reasons to cheer as the institute has witnessed a record placement.
All students have been placed and annual package offered ranges between Rs 3.5 lakh and Rs 5.7 lakh. Over 22 companies visited the campus for recruitments this year.
Telecon offered the highest package of Rs 5.7 lakh per annum, while Jindal South West Steel Ltd offered Rs 3.75 lakh per annum, Mahindra and Mahindra offered around Rs 3.6 lakh and Larsen and Toubro offered Rs 3.1 lakh per annum.
Other companies that visited the campus are Tata Motors, TVS Motors and Hindalco.
Sujata Gupta, the co-chairperson of the placement- cell of NIFFT said, students are now getting an opportunity to work in top companies.
“Students have received more than one offer this year. This shows that the institute has contributed to the core sectors,” Gupta said.
Gupta added that two years ago few students were not placed. “But all have good options to choose from this time,” she added.
“The past seven months were hectic as every week companies would visit the campus,” said student Parimal Singh.
The occasion called for celebrations in the evening. Sonal Supriya presented a classical dance while Ankit Sharma performed a recital and Anand Srivastawa staged an act.
