Newbie DCs in IAS rejig

The Raghubar Das government today reshuffled 18 IAS officers across the 24 districts, anointing greenhorns as deputy commissioners.

Ranchi, Dec. 23: The Raghubar Das government today reshuffled 18 IAS officers across the 24 districts, anointing greenhorns as deputy commissioners.

A 2012-batch IAS officer, Sanjeev Kumar Besra, who was serving as the subdivisional officer (SDO) of Rajmahal in Sahebganj district, has been made the new deputy commissioner of Koderma after incumbent Chhavi Ranjan was yesterday unceremoniously transferred out of the district.

A 2011-batch officer, Ranjan will now serve as the town commissioner at Dhanbad Municipal Corporation while present town commissioner Vinod Shankar Singh has been transferred as excise commissioner of the state.

Another IAS officer of the 2012 batch, Neha Arora, serving as SDO in Gumla, has bagged the post of Garhwa deputy commissioner while predecessor A. Muthukumar (2009 batch) has been transferred as a joint secretary in the state industry department in Ranchi.

Latehar SDO Shantanu Kumar Agrahari has been made the new deputy commissioner of Jamtara while Latehar DC Balmukund Jha has been transferred as an additional secretary in the state water resources department. Lohardaga SDO Ravishankar Shukla will be the new deputy commissioner of Latehar.

Bokaro DC Manoj Kumar, a 2007-batch IAS officer, is the new director (horticulture) in Ranchi while Rai Mahipapat Ray (2011 batch) has taken over his chair.

Under-secretary in the state home, prison and disaster management department Sandeep Singh, from the 2012 batch, has been transferred as state transport commissioner.

Bermo SDO G.R. Gorakh is now a joint secretary of state energy department while Ghatshila SDO V.P. Singh has been posted as staff officer at the chief secretary's office at Project Building in Ranchi.

Pakur DC S. Bakhla has been transferred as special secretary (social welfare) while Gumla DC Dinesh Chandra Mishra has been transferred in same capacity to Pakur. Special secretary in the energy department Gauri Shankar Minj is the new tribal welfare commissioner of the state while incumbent Shrawan Soy has been transferred as the DC of Gumla. Jamtara DC Surendra Kumar will now be the special secretary of forest, environment and climate change.

All transfers and postings will be effective from January 1, 2016, a release issued by the state personnel, administrative reforms and rajbhasa department said.
