New BBMKU VC takes charge; announces date of UG-PG and professional courses exam

Mukul Narayan Deo, new vice chancellor of Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University who took charge of the office and post on Wednesday to accelerate all the pending academic, examination and infrastructure development related work.

Deo who chaired the examination board meeting of the university, announced the date of pending examinations of Under graduate, Post Graduate and all Professional Courses.

Deo who also visited the upcoming campus of the university at Bhelatand mouza and carried out the inspection of the under construction buildings and expressed dissatisfaction over the tardy progress of work and instructed to accelerate the construction work.

Deo who chaired the meeting of the examination board this morning held in the presence of Vikash Kumar, registrar; Suman Kumar Burnwal, examination controller and others announced the holding of pending Undergraduate and Postgraduate semester II exams from February 17.

Notably, the UG and PG semester II exams in which 26000 and 4000 students are scheduled to appear was originally scheduled to be held from January 6 but due to imposition of covid restrictions in state since January 1, the examinations were postponed twice.

The board meeting chaired by Deo, meanwhile also decided to hold the much delayed professional courses examinations like B Ed semester IV and MBBS semester I and II examinations from February 21.

The university, meanwhile also decided to hold the examination M Ed and LLB courses pending since long in March after deciding the detailed schedule of the examination.

Over the PhD entrance examinations which were earlier scheduled from January 9 but later postponed in the wake of covid restrictions, the examination board decided to hold the examination later on after conclusion of PG exams in order to allow the new PG passout students to appear for the exams

Over the issue of inclusion of a new paper in LLB course in wake of recent direction of the Bar Council of India, the vice chancellor said that a decision in this regard will be taken after holding a meeting of the academic council followed by the meeting of the highest decision making body of the university, Syndicate.

Talking to the media after the meeting Deo said, “The detailed schedule of the all the examinations announced today will be issued very soon as university will take all steps to hold timely examinations” added that that he will stay at Dhanbad for two days in every week to expedite all the officials and academic related work of the university."
