Jamshedpur, May 6: Marking the 150th birth anniversary of a freedom fighter is the gift of liberation from normal classes.
Fourteen audio-visual rooms, part of the e-learning wing of Motilal Nehru Public School, was inaugurated today by R.P. Tyagi, the chairman of the school’s managing committee.
Students will enter these spanking new digital classrooms in June after their summer vacations.
E-learning is on offer for students of nursery to Class XII, for which the cradle has tied up with a specialised firm, Educomp Solutions.
“Finally students will get an interesting learning experience beyond textbooks. Since the teaching pedagogy has changed over time, it is necessary for schools to introduce technology in classrooms to help children understand their curriculum better. Just reading and depending on memory is not enough. Visuals definitely help students,” said teacher Pompi Sengupta.
The teachers are currently undergoing a 12-hour training by Educomp to become adept in teaching with computers. Digital learning in higher classes will be based on the ICSE syllabus.
The school is also hosting a three-day RYLA camp (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) organised by Rotary Club of Jamshedpur (West). Around 30 students of KSMS, Narbheram Hansraj English School, DBMS Career Academy, Church School and the host school are taking part in this multi-disciplinary camp.
