Jamshedpur, Jan. 17: The flamboyant Russi Mody wants a house in the steel city.
Celebrating his 90th birthday in his favourite town, the former chairman and managing director (CMD) of Tata Steel and the former chairman of Indian Airlines and Air India wants to come back to Jamshedpur more often.
“I am looking for a house to spend a week in this picturesque town each month,” said the birthday boy sporting a bright red-shirt and a blue trouser.
Seated comfortably in a huge easy chair in the sprawling lawn of Beldih Residency, Mody expressed his desire to come back to the place as frequently as he can. On the lookout for a proper house in the steel city, he has made his preferences quite clear.
“I want a house and not a plot of land to build my house.” said Mody.
Greeting every guest with a bright smile, he was his real self when visitors took him on a journey down memory lane. When they showed him a photograph from his earlier days he said, “See, I sport such a bright shirt in this picture.”
Currently designated as the chairman of Mobar India, Russi Mody has just one message for the people of Jamshedpur. “Not only the lovable people of this town, I want everybody across the world to be very happy,” said an enthusiastic Mody. He was all praise for Tata Steel on the occasion.
