Jamshedpur, Sept. 25: Sudhir Mahto, who was sworn-in as a minister in the Madhu Koda cabinet yesterday, may be the cynosure of all eyes for political honchos, but his daughter Sneha begs to differ.

“He has attended the parents’ meet in my school only thrice so far,” complained Sneha, a Class IV student of Carmel Junior Public School. “Besides, he hardly gets time to talk to me.”

The daughter, who’s on the threshold of her teens, apparently has no clue about ministers and ministries. But she, for one, will not bring a no-confidence motion against her father.

“Whatever he’s doing, I know it has to be good. I have complete faith in him,” Sneha told The Telegraph.

Besides Sneha, Mahto has three other daughters — Sujaya, Shilpi and Shruti.

Mahto’s better half Savita was also sporting a smile, evidently beaming at her husband’s successes.

“Throughout the day I was busy entertaining people who had come to meet my husband,” she said.

Priya Bala Mahto, the proud mother also could not stop smiling. “I am going to organise a Satyanarayan puja soon to thank the Almighty,” she added.

Asked what portfolio she would like her son to be awarded with, she said: “Whatever portfolio he gets is okay with us. It’s up to Guruji (Shibu Sorern) to decide. I would like him to work with full devotion irrespective of the portfolio he gets.”

Asked if the ministry would mean more responsibilities and less time for the family, Savita said: “We are used to it. He hardly gets time for the family as he always keeps himself busy in public life. I have no complaints about it.”
