Jamshedpur, May 3: Kolhan University will hold its maiden examinations in June and July. The decision was taken at an examination board meeting today.
While postgraduate and B.Ed exams are likely to start from the third week of June, degree course exams will be tentatively held in the second week of July.
Filling up of examination forms for first-year degree course will start from May 15 to May 25 while first-year postgraduate and BEd students will complete the formalities from May 10 to May 17. The extended dates for filling of exam forms with a late fee are May 26 to 31 for degree courses and May 18 to May 21 for postgraduate subjects.
“We have decided to distribute the forms at all constituent colleges. Adequate arrangements will be made to ensure that the tests pass off smoothly,” said S.C. Das, controller of examinations, Kolhan University.
“The exams will be scheduled in such a way that there will be gap between the papers. We are trying to minimise errors and delay as had become the practice under Ranchi University, Kolhan’s parent university,” said an official.
The university has also appointed tabulators to re-check documents like daily attendance sheets and admit cards to avoid any discrepancy. In fact, in a bid to prevent forgery and impersonation, the attendance sheet will have the examinees’ photographs along with their signatures.
The documents will be computerised. Besides, they will be manually verified too.
