Relishing Chandni murg tikka while it’s pouring outside can easily be described as the perfect “munch moment” for any foodie.
Fortune Park Centre Point hotel’s Zodiac restaurant has made that moment real by dishing out Dawat-E-Kebab, a 10-day food festival of kebabs, paranthas and biryani with Lucknowi flavour that started on June 22.
“Monsoon is perhaps the best time to savour hot and spicy dishes what with the rains bringing down the temperature. Dum biryanis and kebabs, cooked in Lucknowi style, are must-haves,” said Satish Gautam, manager at Zodiac restaurant at Fortune Park Centre Point hotel.
On the menu are eight varieties of kebabs, four kinds of biryanis and six variants of paranthas. The list of desserts is no less mouth-watering— mango phirni, shahi gulab jamun, badami moong dal halwa and ice cream.
The parantha platter — warqi parantha, keema parantha, punjabi parantha, methi parantha and pudina parantha — is sure to remind one of the legendary “paranthe wali gali” at Dal Mandi area in Lucknow.
There are traditional starters too like aam panna, anari shikanji and jal jeera.
Prices range from Rs 95 to Rs 549.
“The culinary art of Lucknow is special because it was made into a fine art under royal patronage. Cooking was a favourite pass time for Awadh (Uttar Pradesh). The ‘rakabdars’ of Awadh, by their expertise, tactfully blended spices, which we have included in our à la carte preparations,” Gautam said.
