A tourist complex in the heart of Jamshedpur, lying unused since 2008 for want of an operator, will debut as a three-star 30-room hotel from Tuesday providing visitors live music with buffet dinner every weekend, monthly food festivals from various regions and tour packages to the nearest scenic locales.
Christened "The Kannelite Hotel Sakchi Vihar", a property of Jharkhand Tourism Development Corporation, constructed at Rs 5-crore and spread over 1.5 acres, received a new lease of life after hospitality and housekeeping provider Kannelite Facility Management Services signed an MoU with JTDC for taking over operations in January.
"We wanted to reach out to people of different regions living in the cosmopolitan steel city and decided to host food festivals of traditional regional cuisines every month. We have plans ready for the first six months," said Kannelite director Mithilesh Jha.
The fare begins with Chinese cuisine, while in the coming five months, Kannelite will host Rajasthani, Awadhi, Marwari, Hyderabadi and South Indian food festivals.
"We will be offering live music and buffet dinner every weekends (Saturday, Sunday) beginning this week. Local bands will be performing for the visitors," he added.
This apart, Kannelite will also provide attractive tour packages, consultation with JTDC, to nearby tourist hotspots of Dimna, Dalma, Chandil Dam, Palna Dam, Galudih Dam and Narwa Pahar.
The three-storey complex at Sakchi, which uses natural and LED lights, will also offer free wi-fi to its patrons.
"It will be a free wi-fi spot and the entire hotel is based on environmental norms with energy-efficient LED lighting. During daytime, we will have adequate natural light too," said general manager Ranjeet Kumar.
Kannelite boasts several banquet halls, with the one measuring 4,800sqft in area promising to be the biggest in Jamshedpur.
Others are smaller, 2,300sqft and 2,100sqft in area.
"All our banquet halls have the provision of theme-based lighting, tailor-made to customers' requirements," Kumar added.
Of the 30 rooms in the hotel, four are presidential suites of 400sqft each, four are 320sqft suites, while the remaining are deluxe rooms of 250sqft each.
The four presidential suites come equipped with high-end luxury facilities like sauna and jacuzzi. Guests can work out at a swanky underground gym, feast on a grand view of city at the open-terrace restaurant, Machhan, and enjoy landscaped lush lawns.
This apart Kannelite will have a conference hall of 600sqft area, a multi-purpose room, a multi-cuisine restaurant spread over 1,500sqft and valet parking facility in a space big enough to accommodate over 50 SUVs. Tariff ranges between Rs 3,400 and Rs 7,499, excluding tax with complimentary breakfast.
