Tata Steel Foundation to organise mega job fair on February 25

Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) in association with the Confederation of Indian Industry ( CII), would host a job fair in Jamshedpur on February 25, Friday.

The day-long fair will be organised at the CII Model Care Centre inside Tata Steel Technical Institute at Burmamines. The job fair will provide an opportunity for industry people to hire the right talent pool on a single platform.

"We will also launch a mobile application on the same day which will provide a digital platform for job seekers. It will help them in creating their profile, " said an official at the CII Model Care Centre.

Tata Steel Foundation in partnership with Confederation of Indian Industry has established the Model Career Centre (MCC) in Jamshedpur, with an aim to guide and counsel job seekers so that they can pursue the right career choice and support them to provide better placement opportunities.

This initiative aims at providing a platform to the niche group of job seekers who are either unaware of or cannot access other job portals. While the services of MCC are open to all job seekers, but focus is on reaching out to the youth from socially and economically marginalized sections of the society.

MCC also provides support to industries for hiring the right talent pool to reduce the skill gap.

Although like any other industries, MCC operation has impacted due to pandemic but after constant effort and rigorous process MCC has connected various industries ie... manufacturing, service, hospitality, retails, e-commerce etc. to place the required workforce from eastern region

Notably, the Model Care Centre have mobilised more than 5000 candidates, comprising different qualifications and skill sets - 10th and below, 12th pass, ITI/Polytechnic, graduates and post- graduates ( Technical / Non- technical).

MCC has a vision to reach 30,000 youth for creating better job opportunities and increasing livelihood through employment led activities with the help of industries workforce requirements from eastern region and pan India as well.
