Toyota model unveiled

The new model of Toyota Qualis was launched on Sunday at the Bebbco Toyota showroom in Gamharia. After the launching of the vehicle, regional manager of Toyota Kirloskar Motor Limited Maharaj Mukherjee handed over the keys of New Qualis to customers. According to Mukherjee, the new Qualis has been developed keeping in view the Indian road condition and Toyota’s concept of utility vehicle. He also informed that Toyota Kirloskar Motor Limited is investing Rs 500 crore at a new plant in Bangalore to produce gear boxes .

Medical camp

Homeopathic experts from different parts of the country will participate in a two-day medical camp to be organised at the Rajasthan Bhawan from September 21. The camp would be organised by S.P. Chatterjee Memorial Health Association. According to the director of the association T.K. Chatterjee, only patients suffering from chronic diseases would be treated at the two-day camp. The patients can contact at 425357 for necessary information, he said.

Food joint

A new food joint, Nutkhut Park, was inaugurated on Sunday by the state Congress president Pradeep Kumar Balmuchu. The only of its kind in the city, the food joint will provide a wide range of delicacies, under the same roof. South Indian dishes comprising 40 varieties of dosas, snacks of all categories and seasonal fruit juices would be available here. The newly opened food joint has the capacity of accommodating 60 customers at a time, said the proprietor.

Cultural meet

Episode, a city based talent promotion organisation, will organise a cultural event “Yeh Hai Antakshari” with Mouli Ganguly, actress of the popular television serial Kaahin Kissi Roz, at the Rajendra Vidyalaya on September 28. According to an Episode pressnote, the finalists of the contest would be sent to Zee TV and Star Plus for auditions. The semi-finals of the Antakshari contest would be held on September 22 at DAV School, Bistupur. East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Nidhi Khare will be the chief guest.

Thief nabbed

One Ramesh Kumar Sharma was nabbed while he was trying to flee with a stolen scooter from the TRF Officers’ Colony in Telco on Saturday night. The police have registered a case against the accused, a resident of Chhotagovindpur, on the statement of the scooter owner Vishnu Prasad Singh.
