Sinha: Homecoming |
Hazaribagh, July 26: External affairs minister Yashwant Sinha today provided instant justice to his voters during a janata durbar and inaugurated several roads and a bridge in the Barhi subdivision.
During the janata durbar, organised on subdivisional office campus, a block district office employee was suspended on corruption charges. The block official was suspended in the presence of Sinha and senior officers of the district.
Sinha, who attended the janata darbar in Barhi after inaugurating PCC roads and a bridge, directed the officials to solve the problems of the villagers. Sinha said local officials should be accountable.
Due to paucity of time, only six persons got the chance to narrate their woes to the Union minister. Others were told to give their grouse in writing to the district officials.
Laldhari Mahto, a villager, alleged that the block district office employee, Mahendra Choudhary, had demanded Rs 500 from him to complete a work. The deputy commissioner suspended the official, who was present in the durbar.
The villagers said the construction of a water tower in Dhobi Tola would not benefit them as the supply pipes were not set up in their locality. The deputy commissioner asked officials to complete the work within 15 days. The villagers also complained about the irregularities in the distribution of red card under the BPL scheme.
Earlier, Sinha inaugurated PCC roads in Chouparan block office, Chordaha village, Panch Madhav village and in Shivaji colony, apart from a hostel in Harijan Adivasis Vidayalaya in Barsoot and a bridge in Haajari Dhamana village.
Sinha visited Hazaribagh yesterday and attended a number of inauguration programmes and foundation-laying ceremonies.
