Hazaribagh: The state road construction department has cleared the decks for building four roads on the outskirts of the town, Hazaribagh Sadar MLA Manish Jaiswal said on Monday.

Road construction secretary M.R. Meena has asked engineers to prepare detailed project reports (DPRs) for TOP-3 to Merhetta Chowk via Oriya-Lalpur Chowk(10km), Kesura More-Churchu road (20km), Dato (Katkamsandi) to Daujinagar (25km) and Kundilbagi to Phataha Chowk (21km) roads, the MLA said and added that once completed, the roads will decrease traffic congestion in the town.

Speaking to this correspondent, Jaiswal observed that besides adherence to traffic rules, well-constructed roads are a prerequisite for proper traffic management.

The MLA said a number of town roads have been constructed while several others including Nura-Mandai road connecting a portion of Hazaribagh with NH-33 in Bonga, are under construction.

He added that the construction of the Ring road has also been approved and land allocation for the same is underway. Once the DPRs are submitted, funds will be released and work will begin, the MLA said.

Conceding that roadside parking is a big problem, he said people must improve their habits in this regard and that they must follow rules.
